Founded on social work values and research-led practice, EMASS provides a safe, warm, high-quality, and culturally fluent Alternative Provision and Mentoring Service, where young people feel seen, heard, and uplifted. We combine professional practitioner oversight with a person-centred and strengths-based approach to help every individual thrive by re-engaging with their world; dismantling barriers to education, improving attendance, reducing risk, improving life skills and resilience and achieving meaningful outcomes.

EMASS is led by Kevin Marshall — seasoned Mentor, Youth Practitioner and Designated Safeguarding Lead — and Shelley Lyon-Marshall, a qualified Social Worker with over 13 years of statutory practice. Together they bring a rare blend of professional rigour and genuine relational warmth to every young person they support.

Founded to fill a vital gap in BCP provision, EMASS balances high-level safeguarding expertise with theory-informed mentoring and deep community roots.
