About Us & Our Story
A Professional Partnership with Lived Experience
EMASS was founded to fill a vital gap in local support—the need for a service that balances high-level safeguarding expertise, with theory and research informed mentoring practice integrated in with genuine, community-rooted connection. Our journey began with a shared vision: to create a provision where professional standards and human relationships work hand-in-hand to improve children’s motivation, self-confidence, and engagement with learning.
As a husband-and-wife-led team, we provide a dual foundation of credibility. We offer a rare blend of Qualified Social Work oversight and professional governance alongside lived experience and seasoned relational professional mentoring & youth-work expertise. This ensures that while our engagement is warm and accessible, our practice is always anchored in the statutory safety requirements and professional integrity required by our partners in Social Care, Education, and Health and the families we support.
Identity as a Universal Asset: While our perspective is shaped by our own multicultural background, our commitment is to the entire community. We view "identity" as a core strength and a protective factor for every young person, regardless of their background. We are proud to bridge representation gaps within the BCP area, providing a service that is both trauma-informed and culturally fluent.
By applying a Systems Theory approach to the nuances of heritage and environment, alongside developmental and psychosocial theories we offer a "wider lens" of support. We don’t just mentor; we provide comprehensive progress mapping. By tracking incremental growth in emotional regulation and resilience, we ensure every child is moving toward their academic and personal milestones as defined in their Individual Education Learning Plan (ILP). This focused approach ensures every child we serve feels seen as an individual and is empowered to navigate their world with confidence.
